1. Agreement
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Paya. Additional notices may apply to specific features; if there is a conflict, the notice for that feature applies to that feature.
Related policy: Privacy Policy.
2. The service
Paya is a mobile application for Nigeria that lets you fund a wallet and pay supported bills and top-ups, including airtime, data, electricity, and cable TV. Paya is powered by SurePlug (thesureplug.com). Package / bundle ID: com.thesureplug.paya.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws of Nigeria and must use Paya only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for complying with any rules that apply to the phone numbers, meters, or accounts you top up or pay.
4. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login credentials and device secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access: support@thesureplug.com.
5. Wallet and payments
Wallet balances in Paya are for purchasing supported services in the app. Wallet top-ups and bill payments are processed through licensed payment partners used by the SurePlug platform. Top-ups may require verification by the payment partner. Balances are not a bank account and may not earn interest.
Refunds for failed bill purchases are handled according to the status shown in the app and our support process. Successful deliveries of airtime, data, tokens, or cable renewals are generally not reversible once fulfilled by the provider.
6. Bill purchases
When you submit a purchase, you confirm that the details you enter (such as phone number, meter number, or IUC) are correct. Incorrect details may result in value being delivered to the wrong destination; we may be unable to reverse that outcome once the provider has fulfilled the request.
Service availability, pricing, and fulfilment times depend on upstream networks and providers. Status in the app (including refunded purchases) is the record of what occurred.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Paya for fraud, money laundering, or other illegal activity
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the service
- Create accounts or purchases through automated abuse
- Misrepresent your identity or payment authority
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Availability
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, network outages, or provider issues may delay or prevent purchases.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DEVELOPER PAC I.T ENTERPRISE and the SurePlug platform are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses caused by incorrect details you submit, provider outages, or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
